For Parents     Sights and Sounds! - When does your baby begin to hear things?  The answer is in those last few months before birth, during the third trimester of pregnancy.  Whether it is the sound of your voice as you talk on the phone, or the family dog barking at the mailman, your baby is listening to and learning about a brand new world!  But what does your baby think about where those sounds come from?  It is after they are born that they can link sounds to faces, toys, or furry animals.  Research shows that advanced learning occurs when sights, sounds and other sensory stimuli are linked in time and space.  For example, an infant will learn more quickly what a bottle is if the parent says the word bottle at the same time they pick the bottle up.  Then as the infant grows, they learn to use other cues, such as the direction the parent is looking, to understand what the parent is referring to as they are talking.  This is the guiding principle of Wordwindow.  Our programs are designed to link sounds and sights in order to create deep learning of the alphabet, simple words, mathematical proportions, and musical abstract.  We believe that the Wordwindow programs will help give your baby a quicker understanding of the fascinating new world in which they live.
